Earbud fell in cup of cold tea?

Id like to say that it couldnt hurt, but I dont know much about electronics, I know the trick about drying water with rice, but I dont know how much damage you could cause by introducing more water, or how much damage could be caused by the force of water from a faucet. If you do it, make sure it is not plugged into your device. If it doesnt work, earphones can be bought cheap, so no worries. Good luck.
